It was an atomsphere of glamour on Wednesday among the hands that runs that affairs of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, NIJ official online radio called Pen Radio.
Debuted in 2021, the online radio has denied all odds to remain afloat in the business of providing information, entertaining and educating it's audience.
Beyond being a platform to serve the public, the online radio has become the first working experience for new entrants going into broadcast industry, turning novice to become expert.
At the elaborate ceremony to mark the one year anniversary held in the institution's studio in Ogba,Lagos, the elated studio manager, Mrs Okoh Christy explained how the online radio was birthed, adding that it has not been a stroll in the park.
"It has not been easy, we just call the provost and the whole thing started and since then we have pushing.
"A lot of people have come and gone but we still pushing." She said.
She stressed that the online radio operates daily from Monday to Saturday which exposes the students to undaunted task to meet up with delivery of service.
"This project goes beyond during the school period because in media houses we believe there is no holiday." She said.
However, she said some students have turned down the opportunity of building their career by offering service due to inconsistent, thereby, encouraged the students presently offering services to be consistent.
She dropped the hint that it is in the offing to start on terrestrial space.
"I need consistency. If you finish your program in NIJ, can you hold down
"Although we are doing online but we are planning to start terrestrial." She said.
The celebration had in attendance Mr. Femi Osuntoki- a lecturer and students who handle programmes. It ended with the mouths muttering with cake and drinks.
