File photo By Dotun Omisakin, Lagos Students of the postgraduate diploma of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, (NIJ) have expressed concern over the administration of the institution bordering on late admission, length of the number of courses other things they view as improper. A few of the students who were offered admission a month to the commencement of exams believed they were hoodwinked by the institution's online advert announcing the door of admission was still open after two months of lectures. For the sake of protection, the names of these students would not be disclosed. One of them, in her chat with our correspondent, felt disappointed after she was offered admission at the 7th week of the academic calendar. According to her, she was told that lectures began in January, contrary to what she saw when she began lectures. "I was told that lectures started in January." She said. Dr. Akinreti has always made the above statement as his mantra during his classes with the present 2021/2022 students of Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) urging them to maximize their academic voyage to flushed out nonchalant parading themselves as journalist. “My goal is to train 5000 journalists.” He said. Debuted in 2021, the online radio has denied all odds to remain afloat in the business of providing information, entertaining and educating it's audience. Beyond being a platform to serve the public, the online radio has become the first working experience for new entrants going into broadcast industry, turning novice to become expert.
